PRE AND POST CARE INSTRUCTIONS

BBL Laser

  • Wear sunscreen, avoid sun exposure and spray tans at least two weeks prior to treatment. Failing to do so can negatively affect your result. We will reschedule your treatment if recent sun exposure or spray tan on day of your appt.
  • Discontinue use of active ingredients such as Retinol and AHA/BHA skin care products one week prior to treatment. Consult with your provider if you have any questions on what products to avoid.
  • Inform your provider of any use of Accutane in the last 6 months prior to treatment.
  • Inform your provider of any medical conditions you have, or medications you are taking that might sensitize you to light, affect wound healing, or have blood thinning effects.
  • If you are prone to cold sores, inform your provider at least 1 week prior to treatment to ensure appropriate pre-care is followed.
  • It is normal to experience some redness and heat in the treatment area. This typically resolves within a few hours. Avoid hot showers, hot tubs, steam rooms, or saunas to directly after treatment to avoid further irritation to the skin.
  • You will likely notice darkening of your pigmented spots, followed by the spots flaking off typically 7- 10 days after your treatment.
    Please note: Body treatments tend to take longer to heal compared to facial treatments and spots flaking off could take 14 days or more for full healing.
  • Follow your provider’s aftercare plan until skin is completely healed. Please use post-care products give to you by your provider.
  • You may resume your regular skin care routine 1 week after your treatment, or when skin is healed.
  • Wear sunscreen on affected areas daily and reapply. Limit sun exposure for 2 weeks after treatment.

Chemical Peel

  • Wear sunscreen, avoid excessive sun exposure , & spray tans one week prior to your treatment. We will reschedule your treatment if recent sun exposure on day of your appt.
  • Discontinue use of active ingredients such as Retinol and AHA/BHA products one week prior to treatment. Consult with your provider if you have questions on what products to avoid.
  • Inform your provider of any use of Accutane in the last 6 months prior to treatment.
  • Inform your provider of any medical conditions you have, or medications you are taking that might sensitize you to light, affect wound healing, or have blood thinning effect.
  • Your face may feel hot/warm for 30-60 minutes following your treatment. Redness/irritation may be apparent and can last 1-2 days.
  • Follow your provider’s aftercare plan until skin is completely healed. Only use gentle cleansers and do not exfoliate. Please use the post-care products given to you by your provider.
  • You may resume your regular skin care routine 1 week after your treatment, or when skin is healed.
  • Your skin may feel tight for 1-2 days, peeling will typically start day 3, and finish by day 7. Do not exfoliate or pick at loose skin. Let it fall off on its own, or trim with manicure scissors if necessary. There are many different types of peels and not all cause the same level of peeling. Your provider will tell you what to expect.
  • Avoid strenuous activity and excessive heat such as hot showers, hot tubs, saunas, and steam rooms until peeling is complete and skin is healed.
  • Wear sunscreen daily and remember to reapply.

Clear & Brilliant

  • Wear sunscreen, avoid excessive sun exposure and spray tans two weeks prior to treatment. Failing to do so can negatively affect your result.
  • Discontinue use of active ingredients such as Retinol and AHA/BHA products one week prior to treatment. Consult with your provider if you have questions on what product to avoid.
  • Inform your provider of any use of Accutane in the last 6 months prior to treatment.
  • If you are prone to cold sores, inform your provider at least 1 week prior to treatment to ensure appropriate pre-care is followed.

  • As needed for comfort apply cold compresses to the treatment area for 10 minutes of every hour on the day of treatment, until you go to bed.
  • Make up and sunscreen can be worn 24 hours after treatment. Mineral make up and SPF can be worn immediately after treatment.
  • You may resume your regular skin care routine 1 week after your treatment, or when skin is healed.
  • Wear sunscreen on treated areas daily and reapply. Limit sun exposure for 2 weeks after treatment.

Dermal Fillers

  • Avoid anti-inflammatory/blood thinning medications and supplements such as aspirin, vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, ginseng, St. Johns’ wort, omega 3/fish oil supplements, ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil, naproxen, (Aleve) and other NSAIDS to minimize risk of bruising.
  • All filler injections carry a risk of bruising and swelling. Please allow at least 2 weeks for healing prior to any important events or special occasions.
  • Avoid any dental care appointments and immunizations at least 2 weeks prior to and after your filler appointments.
  •  
  • Do not massage the treated area.
  • Avoid consuming excess amounts of alcohol or salts to avoid excess swelling.
  • If you have swelling you may apply a cool compress for 15 minute each hour.
  • Continue to avoid anti-inflammatory/blood thinning medications and supplements such as aspirin, vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, ginseng, St. Johns’ wort, omega 3/fish oil supplements, ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil, naproxen, (Aleve) and other NSAIDS have a blood thinning effect and can cause prolonged bleeding bruising and swelling after injections.
  • You may take Tylenol (acetaminophen) for any discomfort.
  • Take arnica to help with any bruising and swelling if needed.
  • Sleep face-up and slightly elevated if you experience any swelling.
  • If you receive under eye filler, do not wear goggles for 2 weeks after injections.
  • Bruising and swelling are always possible with injectables, can be apparent for 2-4 weeks. This is expected and normal.
  • Most filler have an immediate outcome along with some swelling, but will improve with healing.
  • Skin redness and tenderness is expected. If you experience extreme pain, call our office!
  • You may experience possible lumps from filler. This will most likely resolve as swelling subsides and the filler settles into tissue. If they are bothersome or persistent, make a follow-up appointment, at 4 weeks, with your provider to assess the area.

Glow Series

  • Wear sunscreen and avoid excessive sun exposure or sunburn two weeks prior to treatment. Failing to do so can negatively affect your result. We will reschedule your treatment if recent sun exposure on day of your appt.
  • Discontinue use of active ingredients such as Retinol and AHA/BHA products one week prior to treatment. Consult with your provider if you have questions on what product to avoid.
  • Inform your provider of any use of Accutane in the last 6 months prior to treatment.
  • Inform your provider of any medical conditions you have or medications you are taking that might affect wound healing.
  • Day 1:
    Please follow your recommended AM&PM routine explained by your provider.
  • Days 2-7:
    Continue to follow your provider’s post-care product recommendations to ensure best treatment results.
  • Intense flaking can occur after the first session of the Glow Peel, and may persist for 3-5 days. Do not exfoliate, pick, or peel any loose skin and let it slough off naturally. Use moisturizer as needed.
  • Appearance of darker patches or pigment in the first 2 days following the treatment can appear. This is normal and will resolve.
  • You may resume your regular skin care routine 1 week after your treatment, or when skin is healed.

Laser Hair Removal

  • Completely shave the area to be treated the night before or day of your laser treatment.
  • Wear sunscreen, avoid sun exposure and spray tans at least two weeks prior to treatment. Failing to do so can negatively affect your result. We will reschedule your treatment if recent sun exposure or spray tan on day of your appt.
  • Discontinue use of active ingredients such as Retinol, and AHA/BHA products one week prior to treatment (if treating face). Consult with your provider if you have questions on what product to avoid.
  • Inform your provider of any use of Accutane in the last 6 months prior to treatment.
  • Inform your provider of any medical conditions you have, or medications you are taking that might sensitize you to light, affect wound healing, or have blood thinning effect.
  • If you are prone to cold sores, inform your provider at least 1 week prior to treatment to ensure appropriate pre-care is followed.
  • Redness can occur after treatment and typically subsides within a few hours.
  • You may experience a heat rash or histamine response within the first 24 hours after treatment. This is completely normal and should subside in a few days. If the adverse reaction persists, please call our office.
  • Avoid sun exposure and excessive heat such as hot showers, hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms, and heavy exercise for 24-48 hours after treatment, depending on your response to treatment.
  • Wear sunscreen on treated areas daily and reapply. Limit sun exposure for 2 weeks after treatment.

Microneedling

  • Wear sunscreen and avoid excessive sun exposure and sunburn two weeks prior to treatment. Failure to do so can negatively affect your result. We will reschedule your treatment if recent sun exposure or spray tan on day of your appt.

  • Avoid consuming excess amounts of alcohol or salts to avoid excess swelling.
  • If you have excessive swelling, you may apply a cool compress or lightweight ice pack for 10 minutes on and off multiple times per hour, as needed.Swelling after PRF is expected and is your body’s inflammatory response working as intended, so avoid icing and anti-inflammatories if possible to allow the PRF to do it’s job most effectively.
  • Asymmetry and irregularity of the tissue are common and will typically resolve in 1-2 weeks.
  • You may gently wash your face and apply skin care as usual.
  • Continue to avoid anti-inflammatory/blood thinning medications and supplements such as aspirin, vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, ginseng, St. Johns’ wort, omega 3/fish oil supplements, ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil, naproxen, (Aleve) and other NSAIDS that have a blood thinning effect and can cause prolonged bleeding or contribute to more bruising after injections, and decrease the inflammatory response we are stimulating with the PRF
  • You may take Tylenol (acetaminophen) for any discomfort.
  • You may take arnica tablets or apply arnica cream topically (or both) to help heal any bruising more quickly as needed.
  • Sleep slightly elevated the first 1-2 nights after treatment to prevent excessive swelling, as needed.
  • Make-up may be applied the day following your injections.
  • Bruising and swelling are always possible with injections and can be apparent for up to 2 weeks. Swelling after PRF is expected and is your body’s inflammatory response working as intended, so avoid icing and anti-inflammatories if possible to allow the PRF to do its job most effectively. While brushing may take up to 2 weeks to resolve, swelling after PRF typically resolves more quickly in 3-4 days. 

  • Results from PRF injections are not immediate, and you will need multiple treatments to reach desired outcome, as your provider explained in your consult. These injections are intended to stimulate the healing and tissue regeneration process in the treated ares, and effects accumulate over time. 

Scarlet Rf

  • Wear sunscreen, avoid excessive sun exposure and spray tans two weeks prior to treatment. Failing to do so can negatively affect your result.
  • Discontinue use of active ingredients such as Retinol, and AHA/BHA products one week prior to treatment. Consult with your provider if you have questions on what products to avoid.
  • Inform your provider of any use of Accutane in the last 6 months prior to treatment.
  • Inform your provider of any medical conditions or medications you are taking that might sensitize you to light, affect wound healing or affect coagulation.
  • If you are prone to cold sores, inform your provider at least 1 week prior to treatment to ensure appropriate pre-care is followed.
  • One week prior to treatment start applying detox exosomes provided to you morning and night.
  • After treatment, you may notice some redness and swelling. Your face might feel slightly warm, similar to a mild sunburn. You may also notice some visible tightening immediately after the treatment.
  • Follow your provider’s aftercare plan until skin is completely healed. Please use the post-care products given to you by your provider.
  • Avoid strenuous activity and excessive heat such as hot showers, hot tubs, saunas, and steam rooms for 72 hours after treatment.

  • Avoid anti-inflammatory/blood thinning medications and supplements such as aspirin, vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, ginseng, St. Johns’ wort, omega 3/fish oil supplements, ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil, naproxen, (Aleve) and other NSAIDS to minimize risk of bruising.
  • All injections carry a risk of bruising and swelling. Please allow at least 2 weeks for healing prior to any important events or special occasions.
  • Massage the treated area as instructed by your provider: 5 minutes, 5 times per day, for 5 days.
  • If you have swelling you may apply a cool compress or lightweight ice pack for 10 minutes on and off multiple times per hour, if needed.
  • Continue to avoid anti-inflammatory/blood thinning medications for the next 24-48 hours to minimize risk of bruising after injections.
  • You may take Tylenol (acetaminophen) for any discomfort, if needed.
  • You may take arnica tablets or apply arnica cream topically (or both) to help heal any bruising.
  • You may gently wash your face and apply skin care as usual after your treatment.
  • Make-up may be applied the day following your injections.
  • You can exercise and return to normal activities the day after your treatment.
  • Bruising and swelling are always possible with injectables and can be apparent for up to 2 weeks. This is expected and normal.
  • The benefits of Sculptra take time to develop; do not expect immediate improvement. Maximum benefits are typically seen with a series of treatments, and continual improvement will happen for up to 8 months after your last injection.
  • Tenderness to the touch, or while chewing, are normal and expected for 2-3 days following treatment. If you experience extreme pain, call our office or contact your provider.
  • You may experience possible lumps/nodules from Sculptra. The risk of developing a nodule is greatly reduced If you follow the post-treatment massage regimen. However, if you develop a nodule in the months following your injections and it is bothersome or noticeable, make a follow-up appointment with your provider to assess the area

Nova Threads

  • Avoid anti-inflammatory/blood thinning medications and supplements such as aspirin, vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, ginseng, St. Johns’ wort, omega 3/fish oil supplements, ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil, naproxen, (Aleve) and other NSAIDS to minimize risk of bruising.
  • All injections carry a risk of bruising and swelling. Please allow at least 2 weeks for healing prior to any important events or special occasions.
  • You may take Tylenol (acetaminophen) for any pain management you may need prior to your treatment.
  • Please arrive to appointment without make-up if possible.
  • Effects of the lift and improvement should be noticeable immediately after treatment. However, maximum effect will occur in 4-6 weeks as swelling resolves and you heal.
  • Minor bruising and swelling may occur. A slight depression or skin irregularity may appear at the insertion points; these typically disappear a few days after treatment.
  • Asymmetry and irregularity of the tissue are common and will typically resolve in 1-2 weeks.
  • Continue avoiding anti-inflammatory/blood thinning medications, if possible, for a period of one week after treatment to decrease the risk of bruising after treatment.
  • It is normal and expected to have some discomfort after a thread lift. You may take Tylenol (acetaminophen) and gently apply ice packs (10-15 mins. at a time) to the affected area for any discomfort. Discomfort/tenderness to the touch is normal and may last 7-10 days after treatment. Please consult with your provider for any intolerable pain, pain lasting beyond 2 weeks, excessive swelling, or if you develop a fever. Contact our office to be seen by your provider if you notice any portion of a thread extruding from the skin.
  • Take arnica to help with any bruising and swelling if needed.
  • Avoid facial massages or facial aesthetic treatments for 4 weeks.
  • Wash and pat face dry (no rubbing) for first five days. Be gentle when applying skincare or makeup.
  • Sleep face-up, elevated on pillows for the first 3-5 nights if possible.
  • Avoid any kind of exertional exercise for the first 7 days. Normal daily activity is allowed. You may resume exercise the second week after treatment, but DO NOT engage in any running, jumping, our bouncing movements for 4 weeks. Failure to comply with this may cause buckling of the thread and require removal.
  • Avoid saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs, or any water source that could be unclean or excessive in temperature the first week after treatment.
  • Avoid dental surgery, dental procedures, excessive facial movements, and over-animation for 4 weeks after treatment.

Toxins

  • Avoid anti-inflammatory/blood thinning medications and supplements such as aspirin, vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, ginseng, St. Johns’ wort, omega 3/fish oil supplements, ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil, naproxen, (Aleve) and other NSAIDS to minimize risk of bruising.

  • Avoid lying flat or bending to far forward for 4 hours after receiving Botox/Dysport.
  • Do not massage the treated area.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours, light activity is allowed.
  • Avoid extensive sun or heat for 72 hours; including hot tubs, saunas, and steam rooms.
  • You may take Tylenol (acetaminophen) for any discomfort.
  • Take arnica to help with any bruising and swelling if needed.
  • Bruising and swelling are always possible with injectables and can be apparent for 2-4 weeks. Please keep this in mind when scheduling appointments.
  • Results from neuromodulators (Botox, Dysport, etc.) injections will take 14 days for full clinical outcome. If you feel you need a touch-up or to be evaluated after the 14 days, please call to schedule with your provider.
