What Are Medical Grade Peels?

MDSkin and MDSkin Bar offer a wide variety of peels that can be customized to your specific skin type, with downtime ranging from “go back to work” to aggressive peels. Sun exposure, acne, and aging can leave your skin tone uneven, wrinkled, spotted or scarred. Peels are highly effective in promoting a smoother texture while restoring youthful skin with a radiant glow. Outer layers peel away and reveal new, pink layers beneath.

Who Can Benefit From Medical Grade Peels?

The medical-grade peels offered at MDSkin and MDSkin Bar can address different skin concerns such as acne, melasma, sun damage, discoloration, and aging skin. Most patients can benefit from medical-grade peels. If you have sensitive skin, these peels may not be the best option for you. To find out if you can benefit from medical-grade peels, consult with one of our providers at our office.

How Do Medical Grade Peels Work?

Peels are very safe, cause minimal discomfort, and can be done at different depths (light, medium or deep) — depending on your desired results. Deeper peels produce more dramatic results, but also involve longer recovery times. Our experienced clinical team can recommend a peel treatment that would provide you with optimal results.

ZO 3 STEP PEEL

An innovative peel targeting melasma, acne, fine lines, rough texture, large pores and dullness, followed by an at-home treatment that produces longer-lasting results than ordinary peels. Suitable for all skin types.

SKINMEDICA® VITALIZE PEEL

The Vitalize Peel is the most popular SkinMedica peel, restoring smooth skin texture and youthful glow. Created for anti-aging, melasma, sun-damaged, and acne-prone skin, the Vitalize Peel contains a proprietary blend of ingredients to help rejuvenate the skin. Visible improvements are achieved after one treatment, with optimal results after a series of treatments. Other peels offered include Lactic, Salicylic, Glycolic, Jessner, Layered Jessner, TCA, Rejuvenate, Vitalize, Vie Peel and Radiance Peel.

SKIN BETTER PEEL

A peel made up of alphahydroxy acids (aha) to help improve overall tone and skin texture. Patients will notice their skin glowing after this treatment and will experience no peeling.

PCA PEELS

PCA has perfected both Jessner and TCA blended peels. This company has a wide range of peels to help address any skin condition or concerns. Mild to severe peeling can occur depending on the treatment plan.

With all peels you want to avoid working out for 24-48 hours. No sun exposure for the following week along with not using any retinols or exfoliating products. Peels can be performed a month apart and recommended in series of 3.
