How fat freezing and weight loss works with CoolSculpting

Posted on December 11th, 2019 in CoolSculpting

Whether you wish to eliminate stubborn fat, enhance your body shape, or just feel comfortable in your clothes, CoolSculpting is the best option for you. The procedure helps you destroy fat cells from different areas of your body like the abdomen, thighs, chin, or upper arms.

What is the CoolSculpting procedure?

CoolSculpting is a noninvasive procedure for fat reduction and a revolutionary method of body contouring. The treatment freezes away unwanted fat cells from specific areas of the body. There is no surgery or downtime involved in the procedure. More than five million CoolSculpting treatments have been performed globally.

How does it work?

During your CoolSculpting procedure, controlled cooling will be delivered to target your fat cells. These fat cells are destroyed with the freezing temperatures, and your body will naturally process these cells to remove them.

Most of us suffer from stubborn fat in certain areas that do not budge even when we exercise regularly and eat healthily. During the treatment, only your fat cells will be destroyed, and it does not harm any other tissue, cells, or nerves in your body. In the weeks following your CoolSculpting session, these individual dead cells will be eliminated naturally, and be gone permanently.

What happens to your fat cells after weight loss?

When you diet and experience weight loss, the size of the fat cells becomes smaller, but they remain the same in number. Usually, an increase or decrease in weight does not lead to a loss or gain in the number of fat cells but merely changes their size. If you gain weight in the future, the fat cells could increase in size again.

What happens to your fat cells after CoolSculpting?

When you undergo the CoolSculpting procedure, it can reduce the number of fat cells in the treatment area by about 27% within six months. The destroyed fat cells will be eradicated from your body through its natural processes and will not migrate to other areas.

What can you expect from your CoolSculpting consultation?

You must begin by booking a consultation with a CoolSculpting expert. Someone who is trained and experienced in the procedure will get you the best results in a safe manner. During your initial consultation, our trained CoolSculpting experts at MDSkin will talk to you to understand your concerns and aesthetic goals. We will look at your body from various angles to understand which specific areas must be targeted during the treatment.

We understand that everyone has a unique body and varied goals. This is why we ensure that our CoolSculpting procedure is tailor-made to your specific requirements. Our providers have the option of using different applicators in order to design the most effective treatment plan for you.

If you wish to eliminate several areas of unwanted fat together, we can use multiple systems to help you with your concerns in one session. You will be told during your consultation about the areas that can be treated with CoolSculpting and the number of treatments you will require for achieving your desired results.

What is the procedure like?

CoolSculpting is a noninvasive, nonsurgical procedure. It uses a gel-pad and applicator during treatment so no incisions are necessary. The applicator delivers controlled cooling to the targeted area on your body. Usually, you can return to your daily activities immediately after your treatment.

You might feel intense cold during the procedure, but this feeling subsides after the procedure. The applicator uses a vacuum in order to draw fatty tissue into the cup. While the cooling is delivered to the area, you can read or listen to music.

Are there any side effects?

While you are getting the CoolSculpting procedure, you may experience sensations of tugging, pulling, intense cold, mild pinching, stinging, tingling, cramping or aching at the treatment area.

The numbness from the treatment may continue for some weeks. Some of the typical side effects that you may experience include swelling, redness, bruising, and firmness. In some rare cases, there might be side effects like late-onset pain, paradoxical hyperplasia, freeze burn, or hyperpigmentation. Your specialist at MDSkin Lounge will help to determine if CoolSculpting is the right procedure for you.

What Are the Symptoms of Menopause?

With menopause, there are so many different symptoms that women can go through. It is not a one-size-fits-all condition. But there are very common symptoms that the majority of women go through. Common menopause symptoms are:

  • Thinning hair and dry skin
  • Vaginal dryness
  • Weight gain
  • Slowed metabolism
  • Urinary stress and urge incontinence
  • Volume loss in the breasts

Many women think that these symptoms need to be accepted, that is not true. At MDSkin Lounge we have many procedures that can help to address these various symptoms and have you feeling amazing. Popular treatments we use are CoolSculpting, PRP Hair Restoration, and FemTouch.

CoolSculpting to Combat Weight Gain

CoolSculpting is a nonsurgical fat reduction and body sculpting treatment. It uses fat-freezing technology to kill off fat cells in the treated area. This can be done in as little as 30 minutes at MDSkin Lounge and can treat fatty areas on the arms, back, thighs, abdomen, and waist. To get the best results, most patients get a series of 3-6 treatment sessions done. Patients love this procedure because of its effective, safe, and requires no downtime.

PRP Hair Restoration for Women

If you notice hair thinning as part of your menopausal symptoms, we can help treat this at MDSkin Lounge with PRP Hair Restoration. This treatment uses platelet-rich-plasma taken from your own blood and injects it into the scalp where the hair is becoming thin. Platelet-rich plasma is well known to release many growth factors and promote the tissues to heal. By using this method, we have a natural solution to restore the lost hair. There is absolutely no downtime required for this treatment.

FemTouch

FemTouch can address several different symptoms of menopause such as vaginal dryness and urinary stress incontinence. FemTouch is a great option for women since it is minimally invasive, non-surgical, non-hormonal, and painless. This procedure stimulates collagen production to create healthier tissue. Laser energy is applied to the vaginal walls to stimulate new tissue growth. Most patients get 3 treatments to get the best results. This procedure is safe, effective, and quick only taking a few minutes. Plus, there is no recovery time associated.

There are two types of fat, here’s how to deal with both Phoenix

There are two types of fat, here’s how to deal with both

Whenever we think of body fat, the immediate thought is generally how to get rid of it. There are some rules to eliminating the fat, like eating right and exercising but this fat elimination does not consider what type of fat you are trying to remove. An important thing to know is that there are two kinds of fat. The two kinds are subcutaneous fat and visceral fat.

How does visceral fat differ from subcutaneous fat?

Even though both visceral and subcutaneous are kinds of fat, they differ on a cellular level. They are also found in different parts of the body. Visceral fat is found around the internal body organs like your liver. This means that you cannot see visceral fat from the outside but a hard beer belly, for instance, shows that you have an unhealthy amount of visceral fat. Even those people who look thin can have an unhealthy level of visceral fat on the inside. In order to check for visceral fat, you will need a doctor who uses a special bioimpedance scale. This device sends a low and painless current through your body to measure your body mass. It is calculated by comparing the rate of travel (of this current) to your height and other measurements.

The subcutaneous fat is far less complicated. This is the fat right under your skin and can be seen with the naked eye. It is soft and rubbery and can accumulate anywhere on your body. The easiest way to distinguish between these two kinds of fat is by pinching it. The subcutaneous fat is pinchable.

Which kind of fat is worse?

Both of these fats have their own challenges. Visceral fat is, however, considered to be more harmful since it can lead to metabolic syndrome and type II diabetes. There is a part of the visceral fat cells, the endoplasmic reticulum, which releases inflammatory markers and this leads to metabolic concerns. So even though your visceral fat may not lead to back rolls and muffin tops, it could lead to more serious health problems.

The subcutaneous fat is visible but it does not have a similarly dangerous cellular makeup. A healthy amount of this fat is even required to stay warm. Small amounts of the subcutaneous fat also protect the body from an injury. When you consume more calories than what your body requires, the excessive fat is stored in the fat cells to be used later. This acts as the body’s fuel reserve and is used when you run low on caloric energy. This means that a healthy amount of subcutaneous fat is actually healthy for your body.

How can you eliminate both visceral and subcutaneous fat?

If you have an unhealthy amount of visceral fat, you must change your eating habits to get rid of it. In addition to exercise, only diet and avoiding certain kinds of foods can change the amount of visceral fat in your body.

When you are dealing with subcutaneous fat, there are many more options available to you. Regular exercising and dieting can help reduce the overall fat content. However, there are always certain areas of stubborn fat deposits that do not respond well to diet and exercise. In such cases, you can turn to body sculpting procedures such as CoolSculpting.

What is CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting is a noninvasive fat freezing treatment that reduces stubborn fat from certain body areas like the abdomen, thighs, flank, upper arms, back, and buttocks. The procedure freezes the fat cells in the treated area. During your procedure, an applicator is used to suction the skin and then a targeted blast of cold is delivered to it.

Who is a good candidate for CoolSculpting?

You must understand that this is not a weight loss option but a targeted fat cell reduction treatment for those who are near their ideal weights and are only struggling with a few areas of stubborn fat. You must have an active lifestyle and want to eliminate fat that is resistant to healthy eating and exercise.

CoolSculpting does not reduce visceral fat either. If you are struggling with both visceral and subcutaneous fat, you must first lose weight using diet, exercise, medication or surgery. Once you have lost most of the fat, CoolSculpting can then help rid you of the subcutaneous pockets of fat and offer you slimmer contours.

The Difference Between a CoolSculpting Cycle and Treatment Phoenix

The Difference Between a CoolSculpting Cycle and Treatment

&;

Are you tired of dealing with stubborn pockets of fat, no matter how much you exercise? If this sounds like you, you may be a good candidate for CoolSculpting! Read on to learn more about this treatment and its process regarding cycles and treatments.

What is CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting is a permanent solution to stubborn fat. It uses controlled cooling technology to target and freeze stubborn fat cells, eliminating them for good. However, what many patients get confused about regarding CoolSculpting is the difference between a cycle and a treatment.

When it comes to the difference between these two terms, cycles consist of one specific treatment area. For example, if you are treating your arms, your right arm will be one cycle and your left arm will be another cycle, and that is considered one treatment. Then, a month later, you would come in for your second treatment which, again, consists of those two cycles.

CoolSculpting can be used in many areas of the body including a double chin, upper arms, abdomen, flanks, and inner and outer thighs. This means that the number of cycles that make up your treatment will be unique.

Is there Downtime Involved?

Because CoolSculpting is completely nonsurgical and there are no incisions or stitches involved, there is no downtime required after your treatment. While some patients may feel some soreness or tingling in the treatment area(s), this is normal and will lessen over time.

What is Treatment Like?

Because the CoolSculpting treatment is nonsurgical and does not involve incisions, stitches, or scars, no anesthesia is required. During your treatment, a gel pad and applicator will be placed on the targeted area. This applicator delivers controlled cooling to the treatment areas to freeze and kill fat cells. Once fat cells are frozen and die, they are naturally eliminated from the body over time.

During treatment, patients will feel an intense cold sensation and then the treatment area will go numb, so there is virtually no discomfort during the procedure. CoolSculpting is also a very versatile treatment, and can treat many areas of the body, including the double chin, upper arms, flanks, abdomen, and inner and outer thighs for a slimmer you!

How Does CoolSculpting Work?

CoolSculpting harnesses cryolipolysis® technology to freeze away unwanted fat cells. The specially designed applicators will be placed on the treatment area and deliver controlled cooling to fat cells under the skin. These fat cells are then frozen and die. Over time, the body will naturally eliminate these dead fat cells.

Once fat cells are eliminated, they are gone for good. This means that if you were to gain weight after your CoolSculpting treatment, fat cells would not grow in areas that were treated.

What to Expect with CoolSculpting

Your first step is scheduling a consultation with one of our CooSculpting professionals.  Here, you will discuss your expectations and goals for treatment. A game plan will also be designed to best treat the specific areas of fat that you wish to eliminate. For some patients, their customized treatment plan may require multiple treatments. For example, if you wish to treat the inner thighs and muffin top, you will need multiple sessions.

Are You a Good Candidate?

Most CoolSculpting candidates have unwanted fat on their chin, flanks, abdomen, and outer and inner thighs. They will also have noticeable fat bulges in the area they wish to treat. It is important to understand that CoolSculpting is not a weight loss solution for those who are obese. Many patients who do not wish to undergo invasive fat removal surgeries, such as liposuction, choose CoolSculpting.

If you are located in the Scottsdale area and are interested in CoolSculpting for a slimmer you, contact MDSkin – The Lounge today to schedule a consultation.
