Which Laser Treatment is Right for Me? IPL vs Clear+Brilliant

If you’re looking for a way to fade pigmentation left behind from acne, sun spots or even scars, you may be looking into laser treatments as a way to target these areas for clearer skin. With all of the laser treatment systems out there, it can get pretty confusing when trying to decide which one to go with for your specific concern and skin type. Two of the most popular lasers at MDSkin The Lounge & Bar for pigmentation are IPL and the Clear+Brilliant laser but what’s the difference? Keep reading to find out which system is right for you.

Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)

IPL treatments have been available for many, many years. Safe and effective, IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) targets pigment and redness in the skin. There is no downtime following the treatment and after completing a series of treatments, most patients can control their pigment with 1 or 2 treatments a year. This treatment works best on lighter skin tones.

Clear+Brilliant

Clear+Brilliant is a relatively new, laser treatment. Similar to Fraxel, it’s going to target fine lines, shrink pores and help reduce pigment. This is also a no downtime treatment. A series of treatments is recommended and ongoing treatments are needed to maintain results. This treatment works on any skin type.

The Verdict

So which is better? It depends on your skin type and your goals:

  • If your main concern is pigment and redness in the skin – choose IPL.
  • If you’ve noticed that your skin is looking older than it used to – choose Clear+Brilliant.

Both treatments can be performed on the face, neck and chest as well as hands and arms.

Introducing: Clear + Brilliant! Phoenix

Introducing: Clear + Brilliant!

Is your skin starting to show the early signs of aging? Are you interested in improving your complexion, but are not ready to undergo intensive or invasive treatment options? If this sounds like you, you may be able to benefit from Clear + Brilliant! MDSkin – The Lounge is excited to add Clear + Brilliant to our list of services to help improve individuals’ overall skin appearance.

What is it?

Clear + Brilliant is a non-ablative fractional laser treatment that is a great option for those who are new to laser treatments. This treatment is gentle, only targeting a percentage of the skin. This means less damage to the skin, and less downtime. Clear + Brilliant works by targeting a small area of the skin, initiating a healing response and stimulating collagen for a healthier complexion.

The Clear + Brilliant treatment can be done using two different options: Clear + Brilliant Original and Clear + Brilliant Perméa. Clear +Brilliant Original focuses on reducing large pores, improving skin texture and tone, and treating fine lines. Clear + Brilliant Perméa can also help reduce fine lines and large pores, but can target mild hyperpigmentation as well.

Who is it for?

Individuals who are just beginning to notice signs of aging in their skin (usually in their 20s or 30s) often see great results with this treatment. It is perfect for those who are focused on reversing and preventing these early signs of aging, but are not ready to undergo a more invasive laser or skin treatment.

What Can Patients Expect?

Following a Clear + Brilliant treatment, results are immediate, and also improve over time. Results will continue to improve over the next few days, with skin appearing smoother, brighter, clearer, and more even toned. Also, each additional treatment session will improve results even further, which means the more treatments you get, the more radiant your skin will be!
