Two New Fillers Have Been FDA Approved

Dermal fillers are a popular choice for many patients in the Scottsdale area who want to rejuvenate their face without undergoing surgery. With a large array of dermal filler options already on the market, there is about to be a couple more. Galderma recently announced that the FDA has approved two new fillers: Restylane Refyne and Restylane Defyne.

Both of these new products are meant to smooth our smile and laugh lines, while maintaining a natural appearance. Restylane Refyne was approved for treatment of mild to moderate facial wrinkles, while Restylane Defyne was approved for the treatment of moderate to severe deep facial wrinkles and folds. They are both made with XpresHAn Technology, making the gel consistency flexible while providing support.

“Restylane Refyne and Restylane Defyne are the latest FDA-approved advancements in HA dermal fillers and align with Galderma’s mission to help individuals achieve natural-looking results through treatments with a long-standing history of proven safety and efficacy,” said Kelly Huang, PhD – VP and General Manager of the U.S. Aesthetic and Corrective business of Galderma.

Both of these fillers can also offer long lasting effectiveness, with results lasting for up to 12 months. These fillers were also originally approved for use in Europe in 2010 under the name Emervel.
